Resignation letter

Finally I got an opportunity to write one more resignation letter!!!.. Yes..I am leaving my current firm and going to be 'Berojgar' for next few days.
It has been a long time since I wrote my last resignation letter so I found it very difficult to write it. As usual first thing come in my mind was the mail I got long time back regarding 'World's smallest Resignation letter'. It is something like
Dear Sir,
f*** off. I am leaving.
But I have a very good relation with my manager; at least I think so, so I dropped the plan of electing it.
Then I went back on my last resignation letters. For those, who don't have any idea about my career path, my current firm is my 5th placement and for first 2 places, I hadn't submitted the resignation as there were policy of 'No last month pay' so I just run away after getting my salary credited to my account but after then I realized the need of relieving letters and work exp certificates, so I put my first resignation there.
It was a complete one page letter where I included multiple resignation letters, i got from Google.
I still remember the reaction of my Manager. He said that “Looks like you started it since you joined here. How did you get this much time to write this story?"
Well.. I was very happy at that time so I didn't react him but got the lesson that if your resignation is bigger than your appointment letter, it will make your manager unhappy!!!
Technically Appointment letter is antonym of Resignation letter but for managers, it is opposite of layoff.
It is same as saying" I quit!!" then listening "you are fired!!”
Anyways, I dropped to copy the same old letter and start a new Google search once again. While searching I realized that there is so much change comes in the materials available on net now a day. I still remember that my last time search, which was approx 5 years back, gave me 4-5 good letters on top. Now I saw that there are some 'Sponsored Links' coming in their place. I don't understand who sponsored the Resignation Letter and how they are running their business!! But it is none of my business so I moved to un-sponsored section of search and opened a few of them.
These letters were quite straight forward. I can say that it is not small as smallest resignation letter but they smell like them only so I rectified my search from 'Resignation Letter' to 'Polite Resignation letter' but I got the same results :(.
Then I thought an innovative idea and searched for 'Polite Resignation Letter for Indian Firm' and got some interesting results.
There was one post of an anonymous guy who wrote a story on which you can create a hit film. This was a story of poor family having father and mother suffering from bad health and this fellow has to take care of them so he want to relieved ASAP.
I rechecked the search subject and confirm I am still searching for polite and not emotional or Dramatic.
Any ways with some more permutation and combination, I got my final letter with search content as 'Polite Resignation Letter for an Indian Manager working in MNC' and finally I drafted my new resignation letter.
I am sending it to my manager and praying that I may get a problem free relieving.

Employer Loyalty vs Employee Loyalty

One day I was sitting at my friend's place and got engaged inside the discussion of "why people leave company". Suddenly one person quoted the statement of Aziz Premji that "Employee do not leave company but they leave their managers".
I just thought about this statement and tried to get convinced with it but finally fail to do so. If it is like most of the people leave their managers then how it is possible that some set of people left one organization and join different organization all together?
Some how it also happen and they continue their work together as a team in same way how they were working in their last firm.
Probably we should see the picture of other side first before going further. I think considering "Company" and "Manager" as different entity itself is wrong. For a company, Manager and other employees are same. Managers are just a communication medium or hierarchy created by company for effective communication.
Manager asked their employees to do what he/she got from his/her higher Management or in other words "Company".
So if a person left any firm, it means person is leaving the policy or culture created by the firm and not to the team where he/she was working earlier.
If we consider Company, Manager and Employees as an entity then following statement looks like more meaningful.
"All entities work together to get their own profits. They work together till the time every one is in win-win situation. At the stage of this situation differs, entities separates them self from each other to get an better alternative"
Most of the companies follow it as basic business guideline in case of hikes or layoffs.
Employee has to understand that they are an entity for a company like his/her manager for company and manager is not taking any decision by him/herself. He is hired to take decisions for his own and company's profit.
In that case, no one bound an employee to take decision for his own profit and it is nothing to do with employee Loyalty.
Employee's duty inside a company is to work for his/her own and company's profit and if he/she realized that he is not on the profit side, he/she has to raised the concern to company via manager (Communication Channel).
If it is not addressed by company, then he/she is free to take the measures for his/her own profit.
Most of the people do not raise the voice of their concern just because of they feel that manager will feel offended but they forget that if they wouldn't raise the voice their concern then no one will even know about it as well.
In other side, companies do it very promptly and effectively.
So next time before cribbing about your manager or company, make sure that
1) you have analyzed that you are on losing side even after putting company at winning side.
2)you have raised your concern with proper communication channel.
If the concern is not resolved by the company, you will be free to take decision for your own profit.
I hope it will help you in solving your Loyalty difference issue.

A Surperising Saturday..

There is something special about Saturday. Thought Shikha never allow me to sleep late but I got another excuse for not waking up. My mom said that I use to be a good boy in my childhood and never cry for not going school..well...I am ready to accept that I have start childish behavior a bit late and now a days I am crying for not going to office because of stomach ache.
There are so many other reasons of crying too but I am not here to discuss about it. I am here to discuss something about an adventurous Saturday.
So my Saturday started somewhere between 7:00 AM and 9:30 AM. Shikha waked me at least 6-7 times and I came out of bed with final ultimatum regarding tea. As I never like to lose my morning tea, especially when it is prepared by m lovely wife, but nothing like morning dreams!!!!!
With every call, I just open my eye for evaluating the atmosphere heat and returned back to my sweet dreams if everyone's temperament is not too hot.
Finally I realized that it is too late to stop Shikha yelling on me and suddenly opera filled with melodious music turned into battlefield and I got the sound of some gunshots fire. I wake up immediately and saw Shikha standing just next to my head with cup of tea.
My God!!! It was a narrow escape... btw…The gun shots, I heard in my dream, came from TV serial, please don't misinterpret them.
So, it was a start of my day and clock showing me 9:30. I got the news paper and start it from the last page as usual. I never like to read news paper from the first page as I like to read different story rather usual stuff of one person blaming other for something but I got my second shock of the day. I was not able to read the news paper!!! I was feeling like an illiterate, not able to understand any word, except the pictures but same time I got the reason as well. It was because of my hawker. He gave me Telugu News paper :( .. I was quite disappointed as I got a habit of reading news paper with morning tea but I had no choice left. I continued watching it and tried to get some meaning with picture attached with it. Worst part was all ads were also in Telugu only so could not waste my time with them as well.
Finally I finished fastest reading of all the time and finished paper in 5 mins. As soon as I put news paper back on the table, I saw, Shikha and mom are smiling on me, I know why they were smiling but just to hide my frustration and asked the reason. They didn't tell me anything and continued smirking on me and I felt like most stupid fellow on this earth.
I decided to change the topic and called to my niece, Anya, I think we are the best buddy on this earth. We both protect each other’s back. Whenever we found our self in an awkward situation, we call each other and most of the time I call her like today. Anya picked up the phone with big "Hellllllooooo" as usual and as soon as she realized that it is my call, she started her story telling. Let me tell one thing here that she communicate in some alien language so it is difficult to read, write and understand. Only my mom and my sister can understand this language. Even I don't understand it but I was enjoying it as my mom was looking my face as she was waiting for get the phone and talk to her. Yeeeepii.. I broke one member of rival group. I think I should be in Politics. I handed over the phone to mom and Shikha become all alone. Now she was not smiling on me as she needs support of my mom to take 'Panga' with me.
I asked her to give paranthas as breakfast cum lunch to me and she saw me with corner of her eyes and muttered about my laziness. Even I heard it but not reacted as I always believe on final outcome and not on intermediate disturbance :)
Finally after half an hour, conversation between my mom and Anya got over and in place of happiness, I saw some confusion on my mom’s face. As confusion never come alone, it always come with another set of confusions, I also got confused about reason of my mom's confusion.
In place of playing confusion game, I decided to break the game and asked the reason.
The reason was not good for me. It was traditional good news with bad news.
Good news was my sis got a full time job is very reputed school and bad news was my mom has to go there as Anya’s school timings didn't matched with my sis job timings.
Anyways she planned to go there only after coming back from dipawali holidays. As soon as I adjusted with one surprise, I got next one. My mom had a plan to visit Bareilly as well to see Mamaji and she want to do it before coming back. We tried all the permutation and combination to fit Bareilly trip in our short hometown trip but we found that we have to miss at least one planned activity to adjust it.
All of a sudden, we just got an out of box solution of the problem. If mom travels all alone to Bareilly, before our Rishikesh Trip, we can intact our original plan. I thought my mom will refuse this plan as she had to travel alone but she accepted to take it up. I think she had a storng willing to meet mamaji as he is not feeling well now a day. We rushed to the new generation railway reservation counter, which resides at one corner of my home, to check the availability.
We found that there is some seats available under 'Tatkaal' scheme for Delhi on 25th Morning.
With very deep heart, we booked this ticket and choose all time favorite 'Kashi Vishwanath' for onwards journey to Bareilly.
As we had only one day in between, so we rushed for packing the stuffs and decided to go for some sweet shopping on next day.
against my habit, I saw the clock and come to know that it was 7:00 PM and we hadn't watched TV till now.
As soon as I switched on TV to watch it, Shikha closed it with an idea to celebrate the rest of the time with playing her all time favorite card game called 'Laad' (I think my all old roommates must be agree with it) as we had not played it since our Nagarjuna Sagar trip.
For those, who don't know this game, it is a card game where cards got distributed among all players and the person who left with cards declared looser.
So we played it for next one hour and Shikha enjoyed it a lot as I earned so many cards during this one hour. Anyways all Indian ladies gets happy to see her husband earning more then others and in my case she had another reason to be happy as she had biggest contribution in it.
Finally, we decided to watch TV with our dinner and spend some more time in R & D with new automatic BP monitoring machine.
It was a very exciting day filled with so many emotions. I know that coming days will be more adventurous for my mom as she will do her first independent journey where she have to catch train independently from different station. One may feel it as not a big deal but if you think in prospect of an 50+ year old person on her first independent journey, it is as big deal as going on Mars with change over at Moon for us.
All the very best Mom!!..
I think it is too late for me to go for a sleep and here I am stopping this post!!!

Dedication, Motivation and Creativity

Yesterday I was sitting with my friends and discussing about a good thought, told by my previous manager, regarding good leadership quality.
He said “To be a successful leader, you have to work like glue with your team and after some time they will consider you as a part of the team."
At sudden Bhupi start laughing on this thought. Everyone was enthusiastic to hear the reason of his act and he didn't disappoint us. He jumbled some of the letters from the words and recreated the thought. He removed 'l'& 'e' from 'Glue' and added 'f' in place of 'p' in 'part', replaced 'p' with 'b' in 'be'.
Initially I was shocked with his ridiculous transformation which he always does during serious discussion but then I realized the dedication he has to make such kind of interpretation.
Finally I got another thought of the day:
"Dedication, Motivation and creativity is essential for getting success. In absence of any of it, person cannot achieve the true success."
It is not necessary to have dedication only in serious matters. Like in case of Bhupi, he is fully dedicated towards nonsense talk and motivated all the time to get chance to do it. Apart from it, he is quite creative to make serious thought to a senseless bizarre and laugh on it.

Thanks Bhupi, for providing me this wonderful thought...

Trip to Nagarjuna Sagar DAMMMM

It was almost 3 weeks I was giving one or another excuse to my lovely wife, Shikha for not going to Nagarjuna Sagar Dam. I don't know how much she accepted the false facts I had produced in front of her to avoid it, she finally rejected all my efforts and pass her final sentence to take her on Nagarjuna Sagar on this long weekend. It was a complete festive season and she finally decided to celebrate her vijayadashmi at Nagarjuna Sagar Dam.
It was Sunday morning 4:00 AM when she wake me up to start our journey. My mom was also waiting for my final words so that she can take further decision on sleep further or get ready for this trip. I think she was not very excited for this trip but didn’t tell anything because of Shikha’s interest.
As I slept very late last night, it was a tough call to start the journey of 300+ km with a sleep of 5 hours (usually I took a 8+ hour nap) but it was hard to refuse the call of my home manager, especially on weekends, as she was too much excited about this trip. Finally all chose ends with my request of a cup of tea and everyone started to get ready for the trip.
We started at 5:30 AM from home with drizzling and dark night. We thought to take a breakfast at Siddhartha Hotel as Shikha's office mate told her that it is a good place to have breakfast.
Although we were fully loaded with whole day meal and popcorn's, which Shikha prepared early morning.
I got the first shock of traveling just after 15 mins as I realized that the mobile GPS is not working in the way I expected it to work!! I was looking for Golkonda Rd near lenger house as directed by google map and my GPS was unable to get satellite connection!!..So I took a decision and turned to Koti as I was aware of way..but it added few kms in my journey and wasted my 10 mins.
At Koti, we took the traditional way of traveling in India i.e. stop aside and ask someone for Driving directions. One thing always impress me that every one use to very excited to tell you the complete direction and every one will have his own way to reach the same place!!
Finally at 6:30 AM we somehow managed to reach Nagarjuna Sagar rd, which is a straight road to take us to Nagarjuna Sagar dam.Mom took advantage of this chose and had a nap on back seat till this time.
As it was a straight road, there was nothing much to do except seeing road, listening music and saving my car from the ppls jumped at sudden in front of it from sidewalks and "Expert" drivers coming from opposite side and enjoying wrong side driving.
At 7:30 AM, I saw a big Sai Baba Temple, when I was approximately 65 km far from my destination. I showed to Shikha who was sitting next to me and at sudden Mom wakes up and asked me to show the temple to her. As I was also feeling a bit tired, I thought that it would be a good place to get some rest and make everyone happy as well. So I stopped there.
I can say, it was not a bad decision as it was really a good temple. Apart from temple they had very cute pigeons, white ducks and rabbits. We entered into main temple and realized that it is some special day as there was some special arrangements were going on.Pujari ji (Priest) told us that the main pooja(prayer) will start at 8:15 AM so we decided to wait there for the same. Meanwhile they were playing some devotional prayer which Mom and wife enjoyed a lot. Even I was trying to enjoy it but could not able to do so as I was start feeling hungry by that time.
Finally at 9:00 AM, pujari ji started pooja which finished after one more hour. I somehow bared it with my hungry stomach and tiredness because of less sleep. After pooja everyone queued up to take Prasad and being non violent in nature we ended with last place in that queue. I asked Mom to leave the Prasad and start for further journey but she refused to it.
Finally she agreed to go for a breakfast first and then collect the Prasad as I was about to cry because of hunger and ppl were not moving forward. So I got my brunch at 10:00 AM finally!!!, I refused to go back to collect the Prasad and stayed back in car for a short nap. Mom and wife went back to temple to collect the Prasad and clean up the utensils which we used during breakfast.at 10:20 AM, Shikha waked me up again with Prasad in her hand and we started the rest of our journey once again. After 30 KM we saw the board of Hotel Siddhartha but we didn't stop as we were done with brunch and running short of time. We decided to stop there during return journey as the hotel was looking pretty decent.
at @11:00 AM, got the first glimpse of Nagarjuna Sagar Lake. It is really a huuuuuggh one. I thought to stop over and have a bath into it but stopped myself immediately after seeing "crocodiles in water" board. I think I heard somewhere the story of why they place crocodile in lake build because of dam so there was no reason to ignore the board and we continued.
Good News of the Day!!!!..my GPS and GPRS both started working and I found that it is showing me somewhere inside Nagarjuna Sagar Lake when I was sitting inside the car!!..I looked outside to confirm that I am not off road and satisfied with Black color tires on cemented road instead of blue water with green crocodiles and in meanwhile Shikha opted the traditional way to search the way. She jumped out from car and start asking ppls roaming there about the directions.
At 11:15 AM, I got a first view of Nagarjuna Sagar Dam, Woooow, it was really huge. I recalled the Hover Dam in Vegas and I can say, I found it not lesser then hover in any point but Shikha got disappointed. She was expecting some open gates to some water coming down but Mother Nature and Dam engineers disappointed her. None of the gates were open. Fortunately good weather helped her to keep her mood unspoiled and she asked me to move to Ethipotala waterfalls, which was 25 km away from Nagarjuna Sagar. I must say that she is pretty good in her homework and she didn't give me any chance to provide excuse to avoid further driving.
At 12:00 Noon, we reached to exit way for Ethipotala Water fall. It was a toll road and person asked for Rs 15 to get on the road. I am not sure about the charges are for vehicle or per person as he charged Rs 20 from the car ahead, but I kept my mouth shut on it.
It was a one lane road on which vehicles were coming from both directions. Good part was ppls don't come on Caravans to see such places otherwise it would impossible to drive on this road.
After 4-5 Kms of driving we reached to Entrance gate of water fall. We purchased tickets to get the view of this waterfall. There was a freeway to see this waterfall from closure but I ignored it as if Shikha would get that way, her adventurous cum money saver part would get provoked to take that way, which I was not in a situation to bear.
I must say that it was worth watching place. It was very beautiful and very fresh. Not like the common Waterfalls in south where it is difficult to differentiate between water fall and a leaking water pipeline :)
We stayed there for almost 1 hour and had some snacks there. In between some monkeys tried to steal the chips packets from us which got survived because of shop keeper who sold that item to us. I then realized the additional price on MRP must be because of this reason only.
At 12:50 PM, Shikha invented another touring place, a boating point, called Launching station, near to Dam and ordered me to take her there. Because of this waterfall, I got a little confidence on Shikha and decided to go there. Only problem was the timings as we come to know that the last boat left from there is at 1:30 PM so we started immediately.
At 1:15 PM we reached to Launching station. It was very near to Nagarjuna Sagar Dam and was on bit height. Launching Station is the place from where we can get the boats (called as Launch).I asked Shikha to rush to ticket counter while I tried to get parking place.
After car parking, I reached to ticket counter and found that Shikha and Mom were standing in queue to get the ticket. They were 4th or 5th number to get the tickets. It gave me a hope to get the tickets but very soon it got broken as the two Ladies took 20+ tickets and counter got closed as the boat got fully loaded. It was quite heartbroken for Shikha as she was too much excited to get boat ride. Moreover she was quite upset with this close defeat to get ticket but very soon we realized that the there is some more boats and we still have good chance to get a boat ride today. Security person told us that they will start distributing tickets in next half an hour once the boat come there.
I asked Shikha to come out of queue and I stand there in place of her so that she can get some fresh air.At 1:45 PM they started ticket distribution once again and we got the tickets happily. by this time I was start panicking about the timings as I come to know that this boat ride will take 3 hours and I don't want to drive after getting dark but I didn't said anything as all of us were quite happy till now.
At 2:00 PM we went to get seat on boat after taking some snacks and realized that there is another line for getting onto the boat so we rushed to be a part of this queue. On ticket screening place, security person asked about museum tickets which we had not purchased till now. I asked Shikha and Mom to step forward and reserve a seat for me and I rushed to get the museum tickets. On ticket counter he gave me six tickets in place of three, even I asked him for three tickets. May be he was interested to sell as much tickets as he could be or it was easy for him to remember the table of 10 in place of 5 ;)
Finally we just got a so so seat in boat and we started the boat ride @ 2:10 PM.It was quite a good weather and quite windy as well. We enjoyed a lot on this boat ride except some ppl, who were fighting for a good seat earlier, now trying to stand in front of face to enjoy good view but boat driver saved my day as he asked them to sit back on their seat as it was difficult for him to drive the boat.
At 2:50 PM we reached to an Island, inside Nagarjuna Sagar Lake, having a museum. I asked Shikha and Mom to be at boat only as it would be dark for me to drive if we went for museum visit. They got my point and stayed back on boat. After some hassle, boat started its return journey at 3:10 PM and we reached back to launching station at 3:40 PM.
We saw some small round fisherman's boats, called 'Doungi' in our return journey. It was quite thrilling to see the way it was moving in the lake having crocodiles but I think it is part of their life now.At 4:00 PM sharp, we started our return journey. By now, even Shikha also started feeling nervous as she knows the difficulty of driving in dark. Anyways we thought to cover as much distance as possible to daylight time and dropped the plan to have food at hotel siddhartha.I think I was driving with the maximum possible speed and crossed SaiBaba Temple @ 5:05 PM. I was thinking that with this speed we can reach city by 6- 6:30 and then only the twist came out and it started rain and made visibility lower. I had no option left but to reduce the speed then but luckily we were not too far from the city area and reached the street light zone by 6:45 PM.
I don't understand why end of one problem begins with another problem and as soon as we reach city, I lost the driving directions once again and GPS got down :(
We reached to Towly chowky, a place near to my home, by 7:30 PM and on the request of Shikha for chow min, Mom asked me to stop on a restaurant. We had some bad Chilli Paneer, chicken Manchurian and so so noodles.
Finally at 8:00PM we reached to our home sweet home :)
